For schools

School sport your students count down to

Build Alpha Kids has spent over a decade running multi-sport programs on school grounds across South-West Sydney — primary, high school and after-school. Qualified coaches, 18 sports, all equipment supplied, built around your bell times.

Why schools pick us

A partner, not just a provider

Every student in the game

Sessions are scaled to all abilities, so the kid who'd never try out for a rep team gets coached as hard as the one who would. Eighteen sports means every student finds one that clicks.

Zero lift for your staff

Coaches arrive with every bit of equipment and a session plan that fits your timetable. Teachers stay teachers — nobody on your staff has to run a drill or pump up a ball.

Safety you can show parents

Every coach holds a current Working With Children Check and first-aid certification — both tracked per coach in our own system — and sessions are risk-assessed and scaled by age.

A decade on school grounds

We've partnered with more than ten schools across South-West Sydney, from public primaries to independent colleges, and coached over five thousand kids along the way.

How it works

From enquiry to first session

  1. 1

    Tell us about your school

Your site, your year groups and the timeslot you have in mind — sport time, lunchtime or after the bell. Two minutes, one form.

  2. 2

    We design the program

We come back within one business day and build the program around your bell times, term dates and facilities — sports, session structure and coach allocation included.

  3. 3

We deliver, you get one invoice

Your school engages us directly: our coaches run the sessions on your grounds and the school pays one provider, one invoice. After-school clinics are the exception — parents pay, and NSW Active Kids vouchers are accepted.

What delivery looks like

Four ways schools use us

Weekly PE / Multi-sport

Our coaches deliver your PE or sport block every week — a multi-sport rotation matched to each stage, K–6. One sport block per term or rotations within the term, your call. Lessons run 45 minutes to 2 hours, and we can take multiple classes per visit.

RFF model

We take each class while your teachers receive their protected planning time (RFF). Unlike a casual replacement, your students get a structured PDHPE program — and your school receives yearly PDHPE reports, a scope and sequence, and stage-specific assessments. No extra staff to employ, no planning load on anyone.

Sport blocks & co-curricular

Flexible formats for schools that want sport concentrated — a gymnastics block, an athletics unit before carnival season, or specialist blocks like archery (foam-safe equipment) and Oztag.

After-school clinics

Parent-paid clinics on your grounds after the bell. Zero cost and zero admin for the school — we handle bookings, payments and parent communication.

What a term looks like

A 10-week athletics unit, week by week

  1. Weeks 1–2

Baseline skill checks and running mechanics through games.

  2. Weeks 3–4

Jumps — landing safely, long jump phases.

  3. Weeks 5–6

    Throws — technique before power.

  4. Weeks 7–8

    Relays, pacing and teamwork.

  5. Weeks 9–10

    Mini-carnival rotation and post-unit assessment.

Every unit follows this arc: baseline → skill build → application in games → assessment → celebration.

Stage by stage

What each stage walks away with

Early Stage 1 – Stage 1 (K–Yr 2)

Fundamental movement skills — running, jumping, throwing, catching, striking — taught through discovery play. Interpersonal focus: taking turns, sharing, safe play.

Stage 2 (Yr 3–4)

Combining locomotor and object-control skills in modified games; varying force, speed and accuracy; tactics and positional awareness; rotating roles and building fair-play rules together.

Stage 3 (Yr 5–6)

Adapting skills to the situation — deception, marking, specialised technique; leadership, strategy and creating their own games. Students ready to compete — and to include.

Assessment & reporting

Evidence your PE coordinator can actually use

  • Baseline and post-unit skill checks per stage
  • A–E grading plus a 1–4 behaviour-and-effort scale
  • Termly digital coach report to your PE coordinator
  • Teacher comment banks ready for semester reports
  • Results supplied in spreadsheet copy
  • Completion certificates for every student, with an assembly presentation option

Units map to NESA K–10 PDHPE outcomes (PDe–PD3) in NSW and Victorian Curriculum HPE (VCHPEM) in Victoria, with cross-curricular links (mathematics, English, science) documented in every unit.

Compliance pack

In your inbox before the first session

  • Public liability insurance certificate
  • Coach WWCC clearances and qualifications
  • Risk management plan
  • PDHPE curriculum reports
  • Assessment results format

Safety is also taught, not just managed — students learn risk assessment, correct equipment use and safe practices inside every unit.

Questions schools ask

The fine print, upfront

Who pays for the program?

For in-school programs — sport time, PE support, lunchtime clinics — the school engages Build Alpha Kids and pays us directly. One invoice, no collecting from parents. After-school clinics flip that: parents sign up and pay directly, and NSW Active Kids vouchers can go towards the cost.

Do you supply the equipment?

Yes — all of it. Coaches arrive with the gear and the session plan for every session, so there's nothing for your school to buy, store or maintain.

How do you keep sessions safe?

Every coach holds a current Working With Children Check and first-aid certification, both tracked in our own coaching platform. Sessions are risk-assessed and games are scaled to the age group in front of us.

Can the program fit our timetable?

That's the point of designing it with you. We build around your bell times, term dates and facilities — during sport time, at lunch, or straight after the bell — and progress the program week on week.

Which sports can our students do?

Eighteen and counting — soccer, basketball, cricket, netball, AFL, rugby league, athletics, gymnastics, dodgeball, oztag and more. Most schools run a multi-sport rotation so every student finds a sport that clicks.
